Downtown Tuckahoe, NY is a village in transition: new townhouses and shops share Main Street with older buildings and vacant storefronts as it rises and curves through the historic town center.  The Tuckahoe planning board has been guiding this new development with the goal of reviving the  downtown.  This 60,000 sq.ft. office building, the first new commercial development on Main Street, plays a central role in this effort.  The design of this three-story building with another three subgrade levels of parking incorporates traditional forms  transformed with contemporary detailing.  Vertical bays capped by gables create a deeply etched rhythm along Main Street, echoing the small scale of neighboring buildings.
